HEALTHCAREfirst will join Brightree, expanding ResMed’s software-as-a-solution (SaaS) offerings and reach to new customers

SAN DIEGO – July 9, 2018 – ResMed (NYSE: RMD, ASX: RMD), a global leader in connected healthcare solutions, today announced it has completed its acquisition of HEALTHCAREfirst, a privately held provider of software solutions and services for home health and hospice agencies.

HEALTHCAREfirst will join Brightree, another wholly owned ResMed subsidiary that offers software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions to home health and hospice agencies, as well as home medical equipment (HME) providers.

“HEALTHCAREfirst and its team are great additions to ResMed’s growing SaaS business. Our goal is to help homecare and HME providers better manage their business and improve the lives of their patients as an aging population shifts to homecare and other lower-cost settings,” said Raj Sodhi, ResMed SaaS president.

“Brightree and HEALTHCAREfirst together are greater than the sum of their parts,” said Bob Dean, Brightree vice president and general manager of Home Health, Hospice & Private Duty. “Combining our home health and hospice agency solutions with ResMed’s software investment capabilities will enable us to serve more customers, benefit more patients and payers, and provide the next generation of home health, hospice and HME SaaS solutions.”

“We’re excited to be part of the ResMed family,” said J. Kevin Porter, president and CEO of HEALTHCAREfirst. “Through this acquisition, we’ll make an even greater impact on the patient experience and our customers’ business outcomes in today’s challenging reimbursement and regulatory landscape.”

The transaction’s financial terms were not disclosed, but the transaction will not be material to ResMed’s consolidated financial results.
