Brightree to Show Interoperability’s Impact on Out-of-Hospital Care at HIMSS19

02/04/2019

Will co-host HIMSS Interoperability Showcase demonstration on care coordination

Sharing data between post-acute providers and their referral sources supports patient experience and outcomes

ATLANTA, Feb. 4, 2019Brightree®, a leading provider of cloud-based software helping out-of-hospital providers improve business performance and patient outcomes, will demonstrate how interoperability is improving out-of-hospital care at next week’s HIMSS19 Global Conference & Exhibition in Orlando.

Brightree is co-hosting the demo as part of the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase™ for the third straight year. The highest-trafficked section of the exhibit floor, the Showcase highlights the power of standards-based interoperability by demonstrating the exchange and use of data in real time to improve care, outcomes, and the patient experience.

Brightree will participate in the Nationwide Coordinated Care Use Case. This scenario follows David, a patient with high blood pressure who suffers a stroke, receives acute care, then transitions to home care before relocating to another part of the country. Attendees will see how the document sharing and direct messaging capabilities of Brightree’s product suite for out-of-hospital providers is compatible with the CommonWell Health Alliance, the leading non-profit trade association committed to nationwide health data exchange.

The demonstration will be held in Hall F, Booth 9100, Tangerine Ballroom, at the following times, starting at 0:45 past the hour:

  • Tuesday, February 12: 10am-6pm
  • Wednesday, February 13: 9:30am-6pm
  • Thursday, February 14: 9:30am-6pm

“The transition from acute care to the out-of-hospital setting is an important step in the patient’s journey, bringing with it the many benefits that come from recovery at home,” said Nick Knowlton, Brightree’s vice president of strategic initiatives. “To maximize the patient experience and, ultimately, outcomes, out-of-hospital providers need robust data at intake. At the same time, referring physicians can benefit from timely, accurate updates on their patients’ progress. With our fellow CommonWell members, Brightree is committed to bringing true interoperability to the out-of-hospital setting, and we’re excited to demonstrate our progress at HIMSS19.”
